
Born in Jersey City, she lived there until moving to Sayreville in 1973.
She lived in Jackson from 1976 until moving to Whiting ten years ago.
Mrs. Kavanagh enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, as well as connecting with friends and relatives via FaceBook.
She was employed as a bus driver for the Jackson Board of Education for ten years before retiring in 2007, and previously worked as an accounts receivable clerk at Raritan Periodical Sales, Edison.
Mrs. Kavanagh was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Margaret (Hunter) Douglas, and her son, Shawn.
She is survived by Bernard, her husband of fifty years; her daughters, Kellyann Bacho of Whiting, Colleen Whatton and her husband Fred of Manchester, and Erin Kelusak and her husband Steve of Whiting;her grandchildren, Ryan, Anthony, Brianna and her fiancée Jeff, Travis, Keigen, and Dylan; her brother, James Hunter of Springfield; and her dog, Tinker.
Arrangements were private and under the care of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.
A celebration of Kathleen's life will take place at a time to be announced.
