Linda Marie Szczytko

Linda Marie Szczytko, 66, of Bayville, NJ, passed away on May 6, 2018, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Newark, and lived in Neptune, Neptune City, and Freehold; before moving to Bayville in 2014. Linda worked as a Medical Assistant for 15 years for Doctors Back, Seigel & Goldstein in Freehold. She graduated from Brookdale Community College, receiving an Associate of Social Science Degree.

Linda loved to travel, visiting 49 states with the exception of Oregon. She enjoyed taking cruises to the Mediterranean or wherever the ship would take her. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 346 of Neptune, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Toms River. Linda was a happy, vibrant person who enjoyed life, especially the time she spent with her family.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, William H. Szczytko; her mother Olive Houghtaling of Lakewood; her two sons: William S. Szczytko and wife Heather of Annapolis, MD, and Brian Szczytko and wife Erica of Forked River, NJ; and her daughter Denise Gillman and husband Joel of Toms River, NJ. She is also survived by her three brothers: Eric Houghtaling and wife Linda, Russell Houghtaling and wife Donna, and Kenneth Houghtaling and wife Mary; her sister Mary Beth Brown and husband David; and ten grandchildren: Luke, Brooke, Amelia, Nicole, Victoria, John, Michael, Brady, Lexie, and Connor.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 9th, from 2-4 and 7-9PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Funeral Services will be Thursday, at 11 AM, at The First United Methodist Church in Toms River. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River.
