
Born in Berlin, Germany, Mr. Schroeder came to the United States in 1962, settling in Bridgewater.
He lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Freehold in 1982.
He attended technical college in Berlin, Germany, where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Prior to retiring in 1996, Mr. Schroeder was a Project Engineer for Johnson & Johnson Personal Products Worldwide Division, Skillman, for many years, and was previously a Project Engineer for Englehard Industries, Carteret, for 14 years.
A soccer enthusiast, he had a passion for classical music as well as woodworking and design.
He was predeceased by his sons, Keith in 2011 and Kevin in 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Roth-Schroeder; his son, Jeff of Phoenix, AZ; two step-children, Karen A. Roth of Pennington, and John H. Roth and his wife Caroline of Elizabethtown, PA; his grandchildren, Patricia Cassellini, and James, Cecelia, McKenzie, Sean, Taylor, and Haylee Schroeder; two step-grandchildren, Spencer and Mia Roth; his sister, Gundula Grube of Berlin, Germany; and his cousin, Oswin Schifman and his wife Gudrin.
Funeral arrangements were private and entrusted to Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.
