Maria A. Martinez

Maria A. Martinez, age 82, of Toms River passed on Sunday, March 5, 2023.  Born in Lillybrook, West Virginia, she then lived in Newark, New Jersey. After getting married to her high school sweetheart, she moved to Edison, New Jersey with her beloved husband and retired to Toms River, New Jersey. 

Maria was a housewife and then employed as a Manager at Topps Appliance City.  Next, she was employed by Best Buy as a Logistics Manager where she worked until her retirement.  

She is survived by her beloved Husband of 63 years, Joseph Martinez, her children and their families, Joseph Martinez and Nancy Martinez, Sandra Stevenson and Jerry Wade, and Tina Martinez and Greg Pukay. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Joseph Martinez, Melissa Martinez-Peluso, Kyle Stevenson, Samantha Stevenson, Jordan Martinez and Alexandra Martinez and her great grandchildren, Carter and Colton Stevenson and Amelia Peluso.  

Maria’s pride and joy was her children and her grandchildren and nothing made her happier than spending time with her family.  

Maria’s memorial gathering will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 4pm to 6pm. At Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services in Toms River, NJ.  

The family requests Memorial Contributions in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
