Marjorie C. Danyo

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she grew up in Union and settled in Woodbridge for 46 years before moving to Whiting, NJ.

Marjorie graduated from Union High School in 1949. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Edison, and later Christ Lutheran Church, Whiting, NJ.

Marjorie was loved by all who knew her. She was a homemaker for many years, always putting her family, children and grandchildren first. She was an animal lover, especially of birds and dogs. She was also an avid gardener and baker. She loved cooking for the family on holidays.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Peter J. Danyo and by her parents, Oscar Staff and Marjorie Staff (Stewart) and her brother Herbert Staff.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Pete Danyo Sr. and his wife Rosalie, James Danyo and his wife Maria, Lisa Leggett and her husband Dan; her five grandchildren, Pete Danyo Jr. (Theresa), Kathy Deluca (Nick), Jaclyn Marucci (Brandon), Zachary Leggett (Alexandra), and Matthew Leggett; five great-grandchildren, Gianna, Carmine, Christopher, Dominick, Anthony and a great-granddaughter on the way.

Marjorie’s kindness, patience, sense of humor and loving nature will be missed by all.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A committal service will be held Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, 1137 N Broad St, Hillside, NJ 07205.
