Mary Jane Gallagher

Mary Jane Gallagher (Comes) passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on May 21, 2022.  Mary Jane was married to her childhood sweetheart, Donald Gallagher, Sr. who passed away this past January. She was born in Newark, NJ to the late Woodrow and Hannah (Nan) Comes. Mary Jane also lived in Harrison, Kearny, Toms River and Jackson, NJ.

Mary Jane is survived by her son Donald, his wife Kelly and their two children, Megan and John, as well as her daughter Sarah Jane Gallagher and her two children Emma and Amy.  Mary Jane is also survived by her sister Judy Heath and husband Ed who reside in Laconia, NH. 

Mary Jane had an infectious laugh that filled up a room. Family was everything to her, especially her grandchildren (what happens at Grandma’s house stays at Grandma’s house). Mary Jane’s legacy will always be the amazing wife, mother and grandmother that she was; providing a house filled with love, care, great memories and laughter for her family.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mary Jane's memorial gathering on Saturday, May 28th from 11am to 1pm. At Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 1329 Rt. 37 West, in Toms River, NJ.

Service will be available to view via ZOOM at beginning at 12:15 PM.
