Michael A. Centrella

Michael A. Centrella, 92, of Toms River, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 peacefully at home. Born in Avellino, Italy, he lived in Orange, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1992. Michael was employed by PSE&G in East Orange for 38 years as a supervisor until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Toms River. Michael enjoyed working in his yard and watching wrestling.

He was predeceased by his wife Anna in 2006, his parents Luigi and Pietrina and siblings Hugo and Madeline. He was father to Pietrina Centrella, Ermelinda Orbacz and her husband Brian and Madeline DeConza; grandfather to Sean, Vinny and Valentina; and beloved great grandfather to Anna, Peyton and Sean Jr. Also surviving are his brothers Alex and his wife Lauren and Danny and his wife Janella; his sister-in-law Anita, many nieces and nephews; and his cherished dog Ruby.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
