Nicholas M. Ferrante, 20, of Toms River, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, in Scranton, Pa. Born in West Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of Toms River. Nick was a graduate of Toms River High School East, class of 2009, where he was a member of the Lacrosse team, and was currently in his second year at Marywood University, where he was majoring in Criminal Justice and was a member of the Lacrosse Team. Nick was an amazing person, full of life, always knew how to put a smile on everyone's face. He was an All American Boy with big dreams and an even bigger heart. Nick loved attending Marywood University and playing lacrosse, it was his life. Also while attending Marywood University, Nick developed a strong bond of friends, which he called family and loved dearly. He enjoyed being at the beach, playing sports, anything fun and exciting, but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Nick was compassionate, a leader, and a mentor; and touched so many people's lives. We want to thank the whole Toms River community and Marywood community for all the love, support and prayers.
Predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Walter Laskowski, he is survived by his parents, Michael and Francine Ferrante of Toms River; his two sisters, Melissa and Vanessa; his cherished nephew, Michael; his maternal grandmother, Frances Laskowski; and paternal grandparents, Mario and Candida Ferrante. He is also survived by his loving and caring aunts and uncles, cousins and close friends.
