

Peter Dudas Jr., 79, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Van Dyke Hospice at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Peter was born in New York City and grew up in Bayonne. He lived in Jackson before moving to Toms River 41 years ago. He was an outstanding baseball player for Bayonne Tech H.S. and was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers but retired his career when called to serve his country. He joined the US Army serving during the Korean War with honor. He worked for the US Postal Service in Jackson for 34 years, retiring in 1994. Peter was a firefighter for Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Company. He was a member of the AMVETS in Jackson and the Ocean County Historical Society. He was a dedicated Giants, Yankees and Rangers fan.
He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Anna Dudas and his sister Helena Seymour. Surviving are his beloved wife Elizabeth A. (Brown) Dudas; two sons John P. Dudas of Toms River and Peter B. Dudas and his wife Monica of North Haledon, NJ; his daughter Pamela Montemurno and her husband John; brother Charles Dudas and his wife Catherine of Manahawkin; his sister Eileen Reider of Toms River; his cherished grandchildren Justin Lenhart, Garrett and Hannah Costanzo, Ryan Dudas, and Liam and Sean Dudas; and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. Burial will follow at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations to Van Dyke Hospice at Community Medical Center, 99 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755.
