
Richard Joseph Weiner, known to many as Rick or Richie, age 78, of the Bayville section of Berkeley Township, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ.
Born in NYC, NY, Richard grew up in Harlem. After spending 25 years there, he relocated to the Ocean County area of NJ, residing in Jackson, Ocean Beach, Ocean Gate, and Bayville, where he spent the past 19 years. He was the proud owner of his own landscaping company, One of a Kind Landscaping, and serviced the Ocean County area for years. He loved to spend time with his family, read science fiction novels, fish, watch sports television, go to the beach, and was an avid hunter. In addition to his many attributes, he also was a skilled artist, talented singer and gifted athlete. Those fortunate to know him knew that whatever Richard did, he did with style.
Richard was predeceased by his parents Richard & Emily Weiner as well as his sister Lucille, and his first wife Caroline. Surviving are his wife June Weiner, daughters Therese Weiner and her significant other Irwin, Lisa Stock and her husband Chris, Julie Miesieski and Joe, Julie Ann Suarez and her husband Robert; son Richard Norcross; grandchildren Johnny, Vanessa, Faten, Teia, Victoria and Olivia; many loving great-grandchildren; brother Robert Weiner and his wife Lois; niece Christina Hackett; nephew Michael Weiner; beloved dog Buddy and his dear grand dogs that brought him comfort.
Cremation was private and entrusted to Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Friends and family are welcomed to the repast on Saturday, January 26th at 749 Atlantic City Boulevard, Bayville, NJ, from 12 to 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Richard’s name to St. Jude’s or the Popcorn Park Zoo. A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held at a later date.
