New Bedford, MA - Robert S. Oris, 73 of New Bedford, MA, formally of Hillside, New Jersey, passed away on June 10, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Bob is a graduate of Hillside High School and he served honorably in the New Jersey Air National Guard. Bob eventually relocated to New Bedford, where he married, raised a family and worked as a commercial fisherman.
Bob loved the shore, fishing, and the sea. Bob also loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and always had a quick wit, a joke and love to laugh.
He is predeceased by his son Robert Oris, parents Andrew and Shirley Oris, and brothers Andrew and Daniel Oris. He is survived by his brothers Richard Oris (Sue),Jim Oris (Sherri), sisters Cathy Ernst(John), and Nancy Oris, daughter Krystal Keogh (John), his son Gregory Oris, three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 3 to 6 pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Services will be held at 5pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Bob's memory.
