Robert Louis Vogel

Robert Louis Vogel, affectionately known as “Ranger Bob”, 74, of Beachwood, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Middlesex, NJ and was a resident of Beachwood for 36 years. He owned and operated Robert Vogel & Son in Toms River for 20 years. For 15 years, he was a Ranger at the Joseph A. Citta Scout Reservation in Brookville, NJ. He proudly served in the US Army and was a member of VFW Post 9503 of Bayville and American Legion Post 129 of Toms River. Bob enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his cherished family, especially his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Mary Vogel and his brothers Richard and Roger. Surviving are his devoted wife of 40 years Monica (Quintenz) Vogel; his children, Jean “John” Francois Vogel of France, Shawn Vogel and his wife Donna of Knoxville, TN and Nicole Tharp and her husband Dan of Bayville; five adored grandchildren Sarah, Laura, Abigail, Christopher and Joseph; three sisters Nancy Price (Tim) of FL, Judith Franklin (George) of AZ and Linda Bradford of AZ; and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 9:00 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Bob’s memory.
