Stephen Joseph Serafino

Stephen J. Serafino went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2024. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his kids Kelly (Christopher), Stephen, Anthony (Nicole). His step daughters Elisa and Lauren, and his grandchildren Tyler, Avery, Adryana, Elizabeth, Donato, Emilia, Luciano, Eliana, and Lennon. Who were his world. He is also survived by his brothers, Len and Mark. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Sue (nee Orciuoli) Serafino. Born in Newark, NJ, Steve was an outstanding athlete for Bloomfield High School where he was co-captain of the football team. He graduated from Jersey City State College with a degree in education. He taught English for many years at Hillside High School, where he also served as the school’s head football coach for several seasons. Steve was an avid New York Yankees fan and Rutgers football fan. Steve’s love for sports carried over to Pop Warner football teams in Toms River and coached several championship teams. He also coached Little League baseball. Over the years Steve taught himself carpentry, building beautiful decks and gazebos.

A visitation for Stephen will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A prayer service will occur Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10:30 AM, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Grove Road, Toms River, NJ 08753.
