Dear Coyle family, I am terribly sorry for your loss. I knew Bill from worked & in speaking with him, we realized we had a lot in common, both of us share our love for Mastic Beach, & New York. He was a great man & my name for him was Fr. Bill, he would always tell me a "joke" his pastor would say at mass. I will miss him & will continue my prayers for him & for all of you. As I said, Fr. I remember riding home from Shea Stadium after a seeing a Mets game with Bill and Mom. Of course Bill was driving; of course he insisted he knew the best way to get home. Of course the traffic was terrible. I must have fallen asleep in the back of the car while in Queens and woke up a while later to find we were in Staten Island. "Oh no--we're still in New York?" I asked. "Oh, we've been in Brooklyn and Manhattan, too. You missed it." Bill told me. But he was calm. You see, there is no "best way" to get home to New Jersey after a Mets game. Bill knew that better than anyone, but he insisted on driving anyway, so that everyone else could relax and rest. And that's how it always was. He was always doing what he could for everyone else. It was never about him. It was only about what help he could give you, and he gave a lot.

So sorry to hear about Bill untimely passing. He will be missed by many. I will miss his sense of humor and his rendition of "Happy Birthday". Condolences to the family and may he rest in peace! Russ Hanson

Daddy, It still doesn’t seem real that you are gone. Gone way too soon that is for sure! I will always remember hearing you say “hello sweetheart “ whenever you would call or I would call you “, or how you always sang happy birthday to me on the phone or on my voicemail on my special day. You were always one to tell a good joke (and sometimes you told them so well I didn’t know at first it was a joke) and I know your beautiful granddaughter will keep your joking ways alive. She’s always trying to retell them. When James said “grandpa won’t be able to see anymore of my baseball games “ I told him he will see you. He will have the best seat in the house , and maybe be your angel in the outfield helping you it a few out of The park. You will forever be in our hearts. I know you have touched a lot of people over the course of your lifetime and will never be forgotten. I love you always, Kim.
