Passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 26th, 2013. She was born in Renfrew Ontario on September 20, 1915, the child of John James McCormick and Mary Ellen (Gillies) McCormick. Rosemary was 12 years old when her family moved to Toronto and joined St. Basil’s Church.
After graduating from the University of Toronto, she was employed as a librarian at Osgoode Hall Law School until her retirement in 1985.
Over her 80 years as a parishioner of St. Basil’s Church, Rosemary served faithfully in many of the organizations and ministries. She assisted as Sacristan and was a long time member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, dedicated to helping the needy and disadvantaged. Many of the parish organizations such as the Legion of Mary, the Parish Council, and the Altar Guild greatly benefited from her leadership and commitment.
Rosemary will be dearly missed by her relatives: Bernard Hennessy (Los Angeles), Suzanne and Lorraine Gauthier (Toronto) and Joanne Robinson (Calgary).
The family thanks her wonderful caregivers at Fudger House for their kindness and support.
