Mrs. Alice Harriet Barker Maletich

Our beautiful, smart, joyful, strong and feisty Alice died peacefully

October 17th in her home with her dearest love of 51 years, John,

and grandson Brendan at her side. Devoted wife of

John Maletich and amazingly loving mother to Michelle (Mario), daughter of

Millie and William (Dogie) Barker, widow of Joseph (Red) McCarthy (d. 1956),

the world’s best Grama to Brendan and Evan, and a second Mom to Mary-Lou.

A successful business woman for over 50 years, and in her 93 rd year, she was

pre-deceased by her twin brothers Bud (Joyce) and Bill (Joyce) Barker,

and is survived by her sister, Patsy (Frank) Young,

brother-in-law George Maletich, sister-in-laws Zora (Rollie) Maletich,

Mickey McCarthy, Joan Foster, Jane McCarthy, and Aunt to numerous

McCarthy and Maletich nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express deep appreciation to those friends and

family who have given so many happy times, support and companionship

to Alice & John over the years. Special thanks to

Emilita Tamio, Dr. Jennifer Shapiro of the Temmy Latner Centre and the staff of the

CCAC for all their care and support. A memorial service will be held at

TRULL “NORTH TORONTO” FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 2407 Yonge St.

(5 blocks south of Lawrence) on Thursday, October 24 at 11:00 am.
