

It is with saddened and heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara-Ann Clayton, on February 8, 2022 with her loving family by her side at the age of 72 years old.
Barbara Ann was the strongest woman and extremely courageous throughout her 4-year battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Harold Borden and Audrey Parris. Barbara-Ann was also raised by the late Alvin Upshaw and the late Mildred Parris. Barbara-Ann is survived by her eldest son Shane and partner Jasmine, second son Vernon and partner Ashley, her eldest daughter Sheena, youngest son Shone and wife Natalie, and youngest daughter Tamera.
In addition to her five children, Barbara Ann is survived by her lifelong partner of 35 years, Mr.
Patrick Downey. Barbara was also loved by her twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to Barbara’s special granddaughter, Tanazza Borden, in honor of her kind loving heart and beautiful smile that lit up her grandmother’s face every time she walked through the door. Tanazza, daily you gave your grandmother strength and hope during her time of need. Your generosity will forever be remembered. Thank you sweet, Tanazza Borden. We know you truly adored your nanny.
Barbara-Ann was sister to deceased sisters Carmella, Dale and Velvet, and also sister to Heather and husband Ron, as well as sister to Brenda and her younger siblings, Dean, Sheldon and Tracy.
For thirty years, Barbara-Ann was dedicated to her work as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) for the city of Toronto.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends in Toronto and her native homeland in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Barbara’s memory.
