

ZELTINS, Barbara (nee Buckley) died peacefully on January 16, 2015 at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, ON. Born August 18, 1930 to Esther (Howard) and Leo in St. John’s, NL. Loving mother of Vicky Zeltins. Sadly missed by siblings Esther, Jeanie and Leo (Florence) Buckley. Predeceased by brother Richard. Remembered by sister-in-law Frances. Devoted aunt to Alice (Bob Collins), Mary (Fred Constantine), Madonna, John (Shirley), Rick (Sue), Kevin and Lesa (Steve Pennell) Buckley and numerous great-nieces and nephews. After retiring from the Ontario Civil Service, she volunteered at Sick Kids Hospital for over 15 years, took up bowling with the Blessed Sacrament Bowling League and started acting classes at Ryerson’s Act II where she became a cherished member of the Improvables. An accomplished pianist at an early age, she played the organ at the St. John’s Basilica and was the assistant director of the CJON Glee Club. She worked on the American base after the war and moved to Toronto in 1960 where she met and married Videvuts Zeltins (pre-deceased 1969). She will be missed by all who knew her and whose lives she touched. Funeral mass will be at Blessed Sacrament RC Church on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00 am. Reception Tuesday evening at Trull Funeral Home (2704 Yonge St) from 4:30 to 8:30 pm. Online condolences can be made at www.trullfuneralsyonge.com.
