Suddenly on December 27, 2010 at the Toronto East General Hospital, Bruce passed away due to respiratory arrest t the age of 47 years. Grandson to the late Mr. and Mrs. Marty Chalmers. Son to Shirley (nee Chalmers) and Art Leigh. Nephew to James Chalmers. Brother to Darlene, Carrieann, Lawrence (brother-in-law), Richard, Kelly (sister-in-law) and Michael. Uncle to Shandar, Cynthia, Damion, Amanda and Kyrah and Robert. Bruce will be sadly missed by several others of his extended family. Arrangements entrusted to GIFFEN-MACK 'DANFORTH' FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 2570 Danforth Ave., (at Main St. subway) 416-698-3121. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. following the visitation.

God Saw Him Getting Tired

God saw that Bruce was getting tired

When a cure was not to be.

So He wrapped His arms around him

And whispered, “Come to Me”.

In tears we saw him sinking,

We watched him fade away.

Our hearts were truly broken,

He fought so hard to stay.

But when we saw Bruce sleeping

Peacefully and free from pain,

We could not wish him back

To suffer that again.

So keep Your arms around Bruce, Lord,

And give him special care,

Make up for all he suffered,

That seemed to us unfair.

So many times we’ve needed him,

So many times we’ve cried.

If love could have saved him,

Bruce never would have died.
