Carlo Presta was born on January 17, 1951 in Cosenza, Italy and passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a valiant battle with cancer on April 19, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the age of 73 years.
Beloved husband and best friend of Anna Maria for more than 52 years. Loving father of Teresa (Frank Cortese), Jennifer (Rick Bolt) and cherished Nonno of Michael, Carlo, Dax, Brodie and Ella. He will be dearly missed by his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families. Carlo will be forever remembered, loved and missed by all of his family and friends.
Carlo’s favourite soccer team was Fiorentina, for hockey, the Toronto Maple Leafs and every team his grandchildren ever played on.
He made the best espressos and was a master at the perfect cappuccino. It was generally accompanied by a shot of his favourite brandies.
His happiest times were at the dining room table sharing a meal with his loved ones. It was served with his special blend of sangria, which included his homemade wine.
He was passionate about his work, and treated his employees as extended family. It was a community built on their shared values of respect, professionalism and integrity. When Carlo was not working, he enjoyed leisurely road trips, with many summers spent at his cottage. Recently, he began travelling abroad, and his favourite destination remains returning to his roots in Calabria.
If desired, the family have requested donations in Memory of Carlo Presta be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
