Catalina was a wife, mother and grandmother. Back home in the Philippines she did house keeping and as her full time job she would sew and weave blankets. Every Sunday she would attend church and come home to tell my brother and I the story that was told at the service and how the priest had a humouros side to him. I remember her singing ilocano songs in the living room with a smile on her face almost like she felt she's at home in the Philippines. She would always talk about her relatives in the Philippines and how much she missed them. Also how much she misses her garden in the backyard and the food and different fruits back home. One of the memories I have of her is her in the kitchen shaving fresh coconut continuously mixing it in a big cauldron and making it into a filipino sticky rice dessert and she always had to get the right taste and sweetness exactly the way she wanted it. She was independant always kind, giving, and selfless. She looked after my brother and I since we were born and now that she has left this world I know she is in a better place still watching over us. Catalina gave us so much love and support throughout the years. Deep in our hearts Catalina will always be loved and cherished and not forgotten.
