The family of Catherine Virginia Andrew is sad to announce her death in Toronto on March 5th, 2026. Cathy was born and grew up in Windsor Ontario, and from an early age, showed that she was musically gifted. Cathy expertly played the flute, piano and violin as well as singing with an angelic soprano voice. She loved musical theatre, and performed on stage in Windsor and Toronto. She was a championship swimmer and was proficient in every academic subject. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario in biology and music, she was accepted into the University of Toronto’s School of Medicine, much to the pride and gratification of her father, Dr. Robert Andrew, and mother, Betty, a former nurse. Over the years, Cathy raised thousands of dollars for charity, beginning with organizing “fairs” in her parents’ back yard when she was a child. She was very proud to carry the torch in the Olympic relay to Vancouver in 2010. She practiced family medicine in East Toronto and was much beloved by her patients. Cathy leaves her children, Alexandra and Andrew Beriault, and her husband of many years, Robert Beriault. Also, her siblings David, Barbara and Meredith Andrew, and her niece, Elise, and nephews Peter, Ridley, Dekard and Keeler. A memorial will be held for Cathy on May 24, 2026 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at Beaches United Church on Wineva Avenue Toronto. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her memory to Toronto Grace Hospital.
