It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Christopher Jason Warren Alexander Backle, who left us in the early morning of April 22, 2024 at Toronto Western Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was 51 years old.
Chris, as he was fondly called by friends and family, was born on October 27,1972 to his predeceased parents Peter Backle and Jeanne Bain in Chapleau, Ontario. He spent his childhood years in Chapleau, Kirkland Lake and Toronto, eventually settling in Toronto.
Chris was a hardworking and dedicated person who excelled in his career as a Sheet Metal Fabricator in the residential and commercial roofing business. He was very talented in his profession. He was known for his exceptional skills and took great pride in the work he did, and he was respected by his colleagues and clients alike.
Chris enjoyed any time he got to share with his family and friends. He was a loving and caring brother who was always wanting to be there for his siblings whenever they needed him. He had a huge heart for people he loved though not always able to show it as he would have liked.
In his free time, Chris enjoyed billiards, biking, artwork of drawing, playing Trivial Pursuit, watching his favourite shows of Star Wars and Mandalorian, listening to Oasis music and going on nature walks with his girlfriend Erin. He was learning more about his indigenous culture and loved attending Pow Wow events. He really cherished the time he got to spend with his children. He always expressed how proud he was of his siblings Jennifer and Edward, and of his children any chance he got in conversation with friends.
Chris is survived by a long list of people who loved him, including, but not limited to: his siblings Jennifer (Backle) Berthelot and his brother-in-law Shawn Berthelot, his brother Edward Backle, his sister Vera (Steen) Papsidero, his girlfriend Erin Reilly, his daughters Carli Backle and Kristen Backle shared by Cathy Lauzon, his grand-daughter Zayleighia Foster- Rioux, his son Alex Backle shared by Miranda Tippeneskum, his nephews Kehlieb, Blair, Christopher and Brent, his nieces Pharrah and Kassey, his sister-in-laws Kathy and Mirian Tippeneskum and his aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life/Service will be held on Wednesday May 8th, 2024 between 1pm-3pm with a Celebration of his life beginning in the chapel at 3pm where friends and family can share memories and comfort one another.
Flowers and condolences may be offered to the family at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home in Toronto on Danforth Avenue. Friends and relatives may visit online to sign the memory book below.
