OBITUARIO

Clara Marina Crews

8 febrero , 193522 junio , 2020

Clara Marina Crews (known to all as Marina), won her 10 year battle over dementia by being Promoted to Glory on Monday, June 22 in the Salvation Army Meighen Manor.

Born in Halifax on February 8, 1935, Marina was a daughter of the late George and Susanna Crews. In 1954 Marina entered the Salvation Army Training College, Toronto and served 10 years ministering in the Salvation Army children’s homes in Toronto and London Ontario, and then moved to an administrative position within the Head Office of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, where she worked for over 30 years. Marina was a strong woman of faith who was active in her church, loved to care for others and was the family photographer at all events. Her favourite place to be was in her summer trailer at Jackson's Point in Georgina, Ontario. Her independent spirit, quick wit and sharp sense of humour will be greatly missed.

Marina is survived by her sister-in-law, Major Jeanette Crews and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by siblings Don, Stan, Tommy, Ken, Maude, Frank, Herbert, Theodore, Henry and Margaret. We would like to thank the staff of the Salvation Army Meighen Manor for all of their support and care, especially Dr. Kohut, Teresa Wright and Head Nurse Jimmy. A private, closed memorial will be held on Saturday, July 4 at 11 AM and will be broadcast on Zoom via this link:

Dear Jeanette and Crews families
Sincere condolences on the loss of Marina. I do remember her when I was a young child. I sometimes went to stay with Uncle George and Aunt Sue. Marina and Maude were then in high school. Stan and Ken were still at home. I have good memories of those visits.
Marina resembles Stan. Jeanette, I had not realized Ken had passed . Our condolences to you and your family.
Most sincerely
Doug and Kay (Crews) Vaughn
