David Cameron Reid
February 24, 1974 – November 24, 2016
Suddenly, on Thursday, November 24th, 2016 our beloved son passed away. Cameron was a vibrant and sensitive soul. He was brilliant, courageous and outspoken. As a social worker in downtown Toronto, he was passionate about his job, and was exceptionally loved by his coworkers and by all those whom he served in the community.
Cameron, we love you dearly and will miss you so very much. May you be free of suffering and may you be at peace knowing that you have made a difference. Your memory will be with us always and will remind us constantly to “Look Up”.
Cameron will always be the cherished son of Denyse Johnson and Blake Reid (Dee Calder) and devoted brother to Rob, Kim, Jon, Jake and Nick. He was greatly loved by his Grandpa and Nana, John and Doreen Hayman, and by his Grandma, Margaret Reid. Cameron will be sadly missed by his extended family and by his many friends and colleagues.
A private gathering of family members will be held on December 7, 2016 to mourn his death. It is the family’s desire to hold an open memorial service in the near future to celebrate Cameron’s life. The date and place of this event will be posted on the website of the Trull Funeral Home (http://www.dignitymemorial.ca/trull-funeral-home-yonge/en-ca/index.page).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the South Riverdale Community Health Center would be appreciated by the family. Donations can be made by cheque or cash, either by mail or dropped off at reception. Please include a note directing the donation to the COUNTERfit Harm Reduction Program. (A charitable tax receipt will be provided for any donation over $25)
