Denise was also known by many as Denise Russell and is survived by her husband Gord. She was the daughter of Keith Arlington Girard and Beatrice Aileen Newman, and will be missed by her sister Nicole, nephews Chris and Jeff Logue, her uncle James Schuster, mother-in-law Wanda and by many others.
Denise was born on October 27th, 1962 in Toronto. She earned her undergraduate degree at McGill and went on to obtain a Master of Science in Planning and a Master of Education, both at the University of Toronto. She had a passion for learning that was evident in everything she did.
Denise had an enthusiasm that served to energize those around her. Denise’s appreciation of small things and her caring and helpful approach with people are qualities that defined her. She had a kind and thoughtful heart and a resilient spirit. Our lives will never be the same without Denise.
Cremation has occurred. There will be a visitation at Rosar-Morrison on Tuesday, April 5th from 12pm-2pm.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that donations may be made to: Ontario Wildlife Foundation. Canadian Cancer Society or Toronto General Hospital.
