It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Detective Sergeant Ronald Vincent Boyce (aka Ronnie/Ron/Earnie) who leaves behind a legacy of outstanding work and mentorship over his 39 years of policing on the Toronto Police Service.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago on July 19th 1962, Ron’s journey to Canada started in 1969 as a young lad eager to learn and embrace the Canadian way of life. His young mind was molded as his studies started at Dewson Public school, Kent Middle school, Oakdale Jr High, Westview High School, Seneca College, Guelph-Humber and finally Brock University. He went on to build a successful career starting at the Consulate General Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Toronto. He shortly thereafter was empowered to apply to the Toronto Police Services who, at the time was located in the same building. His professional achievements were matched by his commitment to succeed and display of hard work. He had an unwavering dedication to his friends, family and community.
Ronnie, leaves behind his devoted wife/soul mate, Michele (aka Ladybug), his beloved daughter Kyra (Bo). Survived by his mother, Shirley; father, Lorenzo and siblings Deborah and Ricardo and Gregory. Predeceased by his son, Matthew. He will be held dear in the hearts of his many nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless friends and colleagues. Ronnie’s warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit for life will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation will take place privately following the Funeral Service.
