It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Diane Thompson(nee McGlashan)on February 9th after a short hospital stay.
Diane was predeceased by her loving husband Lloyd(2017) and her parents
James and Stella McGlashan. She is survived by her loving children Mark and Laurie, her cherished brother Duncan and sister inlaw Mary Lou and her adored grandchildren, Anthony(Ally), Connor( Ara Mae), Ryan, Zoey(Leigh) and great granddaughter Isla, special Aunt to Tracey and Tricia McGlashan.
Mom worked many years for the Toronto school board, starting in the office at Central Tech and then to Monarch Park where she formed many friendships, which she maintained into retirement.
Diane was a big Toronto sports fan, cheering her Blue Jays and her beloved Maple Leafs, never missing a game she could watch, cheering, much like she did attending her grandsons playing hockey and her granddaughter playing rugby.
Diane was a very loving caring soul, who would never hesitate to help family or friends, with a caring phone call or a touching card or just to listen and be a friend.
Mom loved to shop and Hudson Bay was not only her favorite, but also her happy place and she continued to go almost once a week, right up till this past Christmas .
Mom never really got over the passing of her true love Lloyd, after meeting at a dance in the late fifties. It was love at first sight especially for Dad who admittedly was smitten and told friends he was going to marry that girl...and he did, and now together again they can continue their sixty five year plus love affair...
Diane will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her, and the world is a little emptier losing such a beautiful soul.
Rest in peace Mom,
your loving children, Mark and Laurie.
