Dorothy May Smiles

Passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on her 98th birthday, Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Beloved aunt of Brian (Maureen), Jaqueline, and Rick (Sandra); great aunt of Tara, Regan (Todd), Adam (Amy), and Bronwen (Daniel) and great, great aunt of Jonah, Freya, Talia, Willa, and Jay. Predeceased by her loving sisters Marjory and Joyce and brothers Edward, Douglas and Joseph.

Dorothy filled each of her 98 years with family, friends, and travel, sharing her smile with everyone she met. Her positive outlook and work ethic led to a true example of a life well lived; from her work as secretary in the mediation department at the Family Court, and then as a secretary in the Provincial Cabinet Office in the era of Bill Davis until her retirement. Her involvement at St. Monica’s Anglican Church where she was a member of the Advisory Board as secretary and her many social connections including the IOGTs. Dorothy was the young sister that was always there to back up her family.
