Dr. Angelo Filiplic

With profound sadness, the family of Dr. Angelo Filiplić announces his passing on August 20, 2017 at the age of 85. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Zdenka, Angelo’s spirit lives on in his daughter, Vesna (Peter), son Zoran (Irene), and grandchildren, Alexandra, Julia, and Izabel. As a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, he passionately dedicated himself to the humane treatement of animals in both Croatia and Canada at numerous clinics including Veterinarska ambulanta Pazin, Wingrove Veterinary Hospital, MacLean’s Animal Hospital, The Toronto Humane Society (Chief Veterinarian) and finally, at his own practice, Midland Avenue Animal Clinic in Scarborough, the culmination of his professional dreams. He will be fondly remembered for his knowledge, professionalism, and dedication by the many colleagues and clients with whom he worked over his lengthy career. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the support, care and compassion provided by Palliative Care staff at the Scarborough and Rouge Hospital – General Division. Friends will be received at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Rd, Toronto, (South of Eglinton), on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm: Rosary at 8:15pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Croatia, 7 Croatia St., Toronto, on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 9 am. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your preferred charity.
