Edward (Ted) Clark Holdsworth, our dear Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, and friend, was called home on September 5th, 2025. In the presence of his son at Michael Garron Hospital, Ted passed peacefully at the age of 80 after a short battle with colon cancer.
Ted is survived by his son Michael, cherished grandchildren Grayson and Reegan (and their mother Tanya), siblings Dale, Patricia, Marjorie (Tom), and Greg.
Born at Grace hospital, Ted spent the vast majority of his life in the eastern part of Toronto with the beeches holding his fondest memories. No stranger to hard work, Ted was a diligent father holding many jobs providing for his young family. From banker to bartender, delivery driver to breakfast chef, Ted always worked hard. Upon the arrival of his son Michael, Ted was a doting father actively involved in games, hockey, soccer, Scouts, schoolwork, and teaching Michael how to cook.
A favourite Uncle, Ted’s fun nature, inquisitive mind, and warm smile, allowed him to make people feel special with his kindness and warmth.
Making friends was easy for Ted as was evident in his final years at Hope Centre. There, he would routinely talk to many of the other residents making lasting friendships. Ted would note how very thankful he is for the love and support his family and friends (Pat) provided him!
In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation/service.
Interment will be on Saturday September 20th at 11:30am followed by a celebration of life from 12:30-3:30pm. The internment will take place at https://www.stjohnsnorwaycemetery.ca located at 256 Kingston Road, Toronto at the West Wall Chapel Niches. Following the internment, all family, friends, and all loved ones are welcome to join his celebration of life luncheon. Kindly RSVP your attendance/details for the luncheon to [email protected].
