Getting into the Christmas spirit has me thinking a lot about my wonderful Nana. I am so lucky to have gotten to spend so many great years, celebrations and Christmases with her. I just wanted to write to express how grateful I am to have had such a wonderful Nana. I will miss you every day.

Bill and I  and Billy and Jessica loved visiting Aunt Bette and staying overnight when we came to Toronto. She always shared her love and hospitality, and a few memories for us to cherish.
I will always remember her and her beautiful example of a Christian.

Dear Bob, Linda and Brian
We were so sad to hear of your  mom's passing.  She touched so many and was such an important part of our family.  The memories that we have with her will live on in us.
Snapshots of memories...her special relationship with her baby brother (Dad Waddell) and all of her siblings, a family event at Aunt Bette's house when the kids all sat in her beloved garden and ate all of her peas (she couldn't have been happier), and later on her attendance at dinners, family functions etc.
After sharing a visit with Aunt Bette, you always came away feeling like it had been special and you were feeling uplifted.

Aunt Bette, what can I say   She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She wasa  loving aunt,  great Aunt to all her nieces and nephews .. our children always looked so forward to when Aunt Bette was coming to visit Nana, 
I fondly recall the days when the family lived on Bain st we used to sneak up the back stairs until we were caught and loveingly scolded by Aunt Bette. She was a devote follower of the lord and now she will be with him and her husband Bob
. Linda,Bob and Brian and family we have so many loving memories of aunt Bette, we share your pain on her passing.

Dear Linda, Bob, and Brian,

I will always remember your mother, my Aunt Bette, with the most love.  She and my mother seemed to share a bond not only as sisters, but as friends.  After Mom died and then the other sisters and brother, Aunt Bette was the one who kept us "Yankee" cousins updated and informed of all the family.  Uncle Bob, Aunt Bette, and you three will always be linked to Nana Waddell since we always stayed at your home when we came to Canada to visit Nana.  I only wish that we could have made another personal visit with her but the pandemic stopped us.  I will truly miss our telephone visits with her over the past few months.  She was an exceptional person and the world has been a better place for her being here.  We love you all.

What to say about "Aunt Bette"?     Kind, sweet, generous, loving…..    

I know first hand what an amazing sister she was - the love, care and devotion she showed to her sister Margaret (my mother) in her final years was truly amazing.   

Linda, Bob, Brian (and all the family - too numerous to name).    
You of course know better than anyone what a special and wonderful woman she was.    Hold her tightly in your heart - she will live there forever.

We have so many fond memories of Aunt Bette joining the family for special occasions and family dinners. I will miss our telephone catch ups very much.

My sincerest condolences, Linda, Bob and Brian.  Auntie Bette will be greatly missed.  For me she was always someone to look up to and respect. She was always my idea of what a real lady is.  I will miss our too infrequent phone calls.  Hugs Sue and Victor

My condolences to the family. I first met Betty in the coffee shop with my Aunt Shirley Eglite. They live across the hall from each other for many years. We were very saddened to hear of her passing.  I met her niece Bev on the Go train and in chatting one day realized our Aunts knew each other. Small world. Betty will be missed by many. Love Kim and Shirley. 

Betty was a beloved member of Riverdale Presbyterian Church her entire life, and will be missed by all of us in the congregation.  She had a deep faith in the love of God that could not be shaken. I loved her dearly, and will miss her greatly. Ministers are not supposed to have favourites, but Betty was one of mine. We spent many happy hours together driving to visit those who were sick or shut-in (many of whom were significantly younger than Betty herself). Well done, good and faithful servant of the Lord. Enter to the rest that has been prepared for you, and that you so richly deserve.

Thank you for being my mother I consider myself a  very lucky person to have had such a kind and loving mom. You were also my best friend and I have missed talking to you every night as we have for years. Rest now mom. I love you so very much.
