Ma, 
It's been 5 years since we last saw you but let me assure you that I have "never, ever" forgotten you.  Not a day goes by when I don't think of you, sometimes with a tear and sometimes with memories that make me smile.  You have left me with such wonderful memories and for that I thank you.   My friends always envied me of the special relationship we had.  They always said you were not only like a mother but our friend "one of the girls"  - (we were very lucky and fortunate). You've always been there for us and that's something I will  take with me. This is my Poem to you:  
                  I thought of you today 
                  But that is nothing new 
                I thought of you yesterday 
                  And will tomorrow too    
                  I think of you in silence
               And make no outward show
               For what it meant to lose you
              Only those who love you know

My dear dear Esterina, very hard to believe its been a year since you departed from our lives to find eternal peace. This evening as we gathered for your memorial mass, I could see your impish smile, your sparkling eyes, hear your contagious laughter, and reminisced on so many of the fond memories we shared. These memories made me cry but smile at the same time. When the chips were down, you always made everyone feel better just by being around them. You have touched so many lives, family, friends, strangers and even some who were not always deserving, but worthy in your eyes because you were always so forgiving. I'm sure you are spreading your love and laughter in heaven.

I hope the candle Paul and I lit has reached you because it was hugs and kisses we were sending your way. My darling sister-in-law, we are missing you more than ever. You will always have a special place in our hearts.

I will always cherish everything you have taught me, Love, Compassion, and, Forgiveness.
You have been a Mom who has always inspired unconditionally, I  will miss your wonderful smile. A smile that lit up the room.Your gentile touch and your wonderful sweet giggle. The time we spent together, you were not only my mom, but my best friend. You are a mom that I am so proud to claim.

'Mamma' was a grandmother like no other. From the moment I was born we formed a special bond between one another. Mamma claimed to have "brought me up" as a child, which she would make clear at several family functions. Although she would do this to generally start a debate at the dinner table, she also did this to gain her 'spot light'. Mamma always had to be the center of attention. She was always joking around with everyone especially my dad. I cant even count the endless amounts of  joking and arguing that went on between them. You cant ever forget that priceless smile on her face that was cherished by all of us. Mamma would always brag to everyone about how much her grandchildren loved her. I can hear her saying see "My grandchildren... They love me". It is true mamma, we all truly love you, and although you will be greatly missed, you will never be forgotten. You will always have a soft spot in my heart, from the Grandson you have claimed to raise; Mark Winsor.

The one thing that we can be certain of is that somewhere up there our Mother is looking down at all of us and saying “You all here for me, you do love me”…. With her trademark smile and a laugh that would melt your heart

When we think of our mother we think of a loving, strong, compassionate woman who was always happy and wanted to make sure those around her were also happy. She had a smile that would light up a room and a giggle that could brighten your day.  She was the life of the party, a gentle caring and funny woman who always made time for everyone.  We can remember a time when an abused woman and child showed up at our door and she took them in clothed and fed them and let them stay until they were back on their feet and ready to leave.  She would do this all the time; she always tried to help those less fortunate.  She was sometimes referred to by these people as a saint or an angel.  There are so many happy memories to list them all but here are a few that stick out in our minds:

-	The Casino- you could never get her to leave, she loved the Casino.  She would say “Okay let’s go but, first I have to go to the bathroom” and we would find her at another slot machine….she would just turn to you and laugh.
-	She had a way of saying things in English that would make you laugh, like when she would call her grandkids and say “ Come over I made you rice in the HOVEN”

She was so proud of her 5 beautiful daughters.  She was not only an amazing mother but also our BEST friend. Whether it was playing cards in the basement, spending the summer together at the beach or just sitting around the dinner table, she was always one of the girls.  She was at her most happiest being with her family. She loved having people around.

Our mother was not only a loving wife, mother, sister she was also a one of a kind amazing grandmother or as she was affectingly referred to as by her grandkids MAMMA.  She would always try to help her grandchildren with whatever they needed.  She was so happy when they were all around her.  She loved to laugh and could make you laugh without even trying.  If our mother was around laughter was never far behind.

She was so respected and loved by all of those around her for her strength.  No matter what she was going through she always had that beautiful smile on her face.

We want to say “ Mommy we love you and you will be forever in our hearts. You raised is to be like you, to be gentle and kind.  We will forever be grateful for being the wonderful mother you are. We say goodbye for now, to our BEST FRIEND.

Now in the words of our mother as she would have said “ Thank you for coming and I love you all”

We will remember her has a wonderful,kind hearted lady. She had a million dollar smile and the most wonderful sense of humor.
