Evelyn Teresa McGloin

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Evelyn on the 30th of May, 2022 at her home in Toronto, following a lengthy battle with cancer which she fought bravely.

Born Co Galway, Ireland, educated by the Mercy Nuns, Evelyn was one of four daughters born to Catherine and John McGloin.

She was predeceased by her sisters Mai (O’Connor) and Peig (Quane) and is survived by her sister Pauline (Polly) McGloin.

Evelyn was on staff of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada (formerly Heart Foundation of Ontario) for more than thirty years as Corporate Secretary, Director of Research, etc

Evelyn never lost her love of the Homeland and spent 2 months there most years. She always kept in touch with Irish friends , both in Canada and Ireland especially the Keegan family of Canada and Ireland and they were her “rocks”, especially through Covid and later her illness.

Friends may visit the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne St, Toronto from 4pm-7pm on Monday, June 6. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Basil’s Church, 50 St. Joseph St on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Evelyn’s name to the Mount Sinai Hospital or Princess Margaret Hospital.
