Dear family of Fr. Keith,

I’m writing to send my deepest condolences upon recently learning of Keith’s passing.  He was a spiritual father of mine during our time at Campion College some 20 years ago now.  His kindness and compassion, along with his quick witted and straight forward assessments of day to day life were often the very consolations and right perspective that kept me going through the completion of my degree at Campion. In more recent years we had corresponded through messages, with our last visit of happy memory in 2019. I will not soon forget the candid and vibrant outlook Keith shared with those who were privileged to have called him a spiritual father and friend. Please rest assured of my continued prayers for the repose of his soul and for all those whose relationships remained close with our dear friend in Christ.

I was very sorry to hear of Keith's passing. He had a long history of devotion to his calling. Keith was a dear friend of my brother John during the high school years. Keith's late sister, Elizabeth, was married to Edward Kalil,  brother of my late husband, James. We were a very close family, enjoying dinners together and playtimes for the children. As time passed, my   family and Edward's family moved away from Cornwall, but enjoyed visiting when we could. From time to time Keith had health issues, but carried on his devoted  duties in the Church. God rest his soul in eternity.

I first met Fr. Keith at the Martyrs' Shrine, He was very supportive of my work there. When my father passed away, Fr. Keith was there to comfort with words and acts of kindness. We both shared a love for the Canadian Martyrs and St.  Catherine Tekakwitha. We would spend hours talking about them, both at the Shrine and at Goupil House when I would come to visit. Before the pandemic, we would walk and talk throughout the lovely grounds of Manresa. He was a very devout priest, with a wonderful sense of humour and a brilliant mind. We would have many great laughs together and deep conversations. I will miss him, and feel blessed to have memories of special times together. Eternal Rest and Perpetual Light Grant unto him, O Lord.

I met Fr. Kieth in Guelph at a retreat in 1978, We became long time friends through his close Jesuit brothers Fr. Ed O’Brien and Fr. Alex Kirsten.  We reconnected when he was at Martyrs Shrine.   I was so Blessed to have him as my Spiritual Director while going  through Diaconate formation at St. Agustine Seminary from 1999 - 2014, with monthly visits up until when  Covid hit.  Although our visits became limited following Fr.Kieth’s time at the infirmary.
I was able to visit Fr. Kieth a few weeks ago on September 27th. , he was very coherent for about 15 minutes- reminiscing his time at Guelph, the Seminary and at Martyr's Shrine. 
Rest in peace my good friend.  Now at peace enjoying old friendship with Fr.Ed and Fr. Alex !

Deacon Tim Dunlop

I met Keith Langstaff in 1968 when he was proctor at Johnston Hall, University of Guelph. He was studying philosphy. A gentle human being, with a wonderful laugh an a beautiful voice that could fill the coffee shop singing  Let it be, by the Beatles. 
His progressive Christian views were always a great inspiration to me and a subject we enjoyed exploring in his "retirement" years.

I will miss Fr. Keith Langstaff. He always had great words of inspiration to say and was always  apppreciative of the staff here at Rene Goupil. He would comment about the entrees from the kitchen how the cooks were doing a fine job as he was very particular about his diet being diabetic and a lactose free diet. He also kept the nurses  on their toes with his care. But always in a mindful way.  He loved his La-Z-Boy chair and captured a lot of rest time in his chair. It was a pleasure knowing Fr . Langstaff in the years that I worked for RGH . He  enjoyed the  annual Christmas party and had an amazing voice and enjoyed singing the Christmas Carols. Fr Langstaff also had his picture taken with Santa.
