I just found out that Mr. Sehovic, one of my favorite teachers from high school, passed away many years ago. Though it's been a long time, the news still hit me deeply as I searched for him online and discovered his passing. I wanted to take a moment to send my condolences and love to his family. Mr. Sehovic was an incredible person, a teacher who truly loved what he did. He was the only teacher from high school I still remember vividly, not only for his lessons but for the passion and care he brought to teaching. His words and wisdom have stayed with me over the years, and even today, I find myself reflecting on the things he taught me. I am forever grateful for the impact he had on my life, and I just wanted to recognize and honor him here.

Frank taught "Shooting a short film" course and from the description I knew I had to do it. He stated that while it seemed  like an easy "basket weaving" credit, effort would be required and we bought in and produced. These were the days of Super8 film. Video, or at least camcorders, were still in the future. Horror movie trailers, fake commercials and music videos ensued.

Any way, he (film and TV) and Carol Weldon (Theatre) changed my life and I'm a working actor and I can't thank them enough.

Franc was a wonderfully supportive presence. With his encouragement I made some creative films. He was a kind and positive presence for a young and aspiring film maker. One of my favourite HS teachers. May he Rest In Peace. 

Franc was my film teacher from grade 10 to 13 at Newtonbrook SS and is one of my favourite teachers of all time. He was always very supportive of my film projects and encouraged me to to continue working with film when I went to university. In fact, he generously offered to loan me his superior Bealiux Super 8 camera for my fourth year film project that could not have been done otherwise. I so much enjoyed talking films with him. He is fondly remembered and will be sorely missed.

I remember Frank asking me what is going on as I wasn’t doing well with my marks. I explained to him my situation and he totally understood.  So he passed me to help me out. I’ll never forget that. BTW he always told us to call him Frank. I also remember him coming to out local pool hall after school and he would have his espresso   We will ALL miss him.

Franc was definitely a favorite teacher in high school. He played a significant role in inspiring my pursuit of a career in media. Here I am, 35+ years later, still in the TV business. I so appreciate his teaching and guidance.   I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to take his classes. My sincerest condolences to his family. 

Franc was my most memorable media teacher at Newtonbrook. I am truly saddened to hear about his passing. 
He was such a great guy who really cared about his students. We had fun while learning and creating. 

My most memorable moment:
I used to fix the headphones for his media class and didn't ask for money but he insisted that I get paid because he would otherwise take it to a store to get it fixed which would cost more. 

Everyone has a few great teachers they remember that touched their lives. Franc touched mine. Thank you Franc, rest in peace.

Mr. Franc Sehovic was my fav Newtonbrook high school  teacher. I learned much from him! I looked forward to attending all his classes, at a time when skipping off high-school classes was common place. What's more, in the 40+ years since graduation, I have conducted myself upon his philosophy that we students  attained from his teachings!

I am very sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Sehovic. He was a great teacher.  He not only taught me useful skills that I have taken with me through a 30 year career, but he made learning fun and that is most important of all.

Louis and I were very sad to hear about Franc's death.  Even though we didn't see each other often, we have many fond memories of our times together.  We had no idea that your hubby was even sick.  Our sincere condolences on the loss of Franc.

Mr. Sehovic was a wonderful teacher. I learned a lot in his class, and had a lot of fun while doing so. It was literally the best class of my high-school life. What's more, in the 26 years since my graduation, I have often called upon the knowledge I gained from his class, both professionally and at home.

You were a great teacher, Mr. Sehovic. Rest in peace.
