It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gail Linda Jenkinson. She was born in 1946, on the 21st of June, in Mount Forest Ontario. Daughter of the late Dorthy Longworth and Howard Thompson, Gail is survived by her siblings, Tom (Allison), Rick and Valerie (Sean). She is the beloved mother of Jamie, (Melissa) and Andrew, and cherished grandmother of Marlie, Madelyn, Brody and Jack. Gail was the heart and soul of her family. She was a loving daughter, wonderful mother, doting grandmother and a loyal friend.
Gail was very athletic in her youth, competing in a variety of sports throughout her years in school. She matured into an intelligent and beautiful woman who modelled professionally and later managed a modelling agency. In 1979, Gail became a mother and focussed on raising and nurturing her family.
Gail’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, friends and church.
She embraced her role as a mother and grandmother with boundless love and care, putting her children’s well-being above all else. Her spirit and guidance helped shape their lives and her legacy will live forever in their hearts.
Gail’s kindness, generosity, and youthful spirit was endeared by all her friends. Her vibrant personality and love of fashion were evident in her impeccable style and radiant presence. Nothing meant more to her than being surrounded by family and friends as often as possible. Her zest for life was contagious; you could not help but smile the moment you saw her. She always embraced each moment with a spirit of fun and joy.
Gail was also a servant of God and cherished the community at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Her faith provided the strength and courage she used to fight four extremely difficult battles with cancer.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
