

Gary George Archer of Toronto suddenly passed away at age 76. Predeceased by Father George Alfred of Toronto Mother Helen P Stubbington(nee Sedore) of Tweed and younger brother Gordie (Toronto). Survived by identical twin Glenn Alfred of Orillia and his wife Ellen of Orillia. Sadly missed by Nephew Glenn Kenneth and wife Tabitha of Mar Niece Ruby Ellen of Saugeen Shores. And cherished by his many great nieces and nephew who adored and spoke of with pride.
Gary's was born in December1948, the second in a set of identical twins boys. He left home at 16 and began working for McMillan Printing/publishing printing atlases that were being used in Schools all over Canada. He would later on find himself employed as a proud Canada post employee delivering mail all over the greater Toronto area. He was pro labor and was active with the Canadian postal employees union while his tenure with Canada Post. After retiring from the post office he dabbled as a black jack dealer, various manpower positions and was a window cleaner for a brief period where his partner dressed up as a superhero to entertain the kids while they cleaned the windows of the Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital.
An avid sports fan and participant He was a Montreal Canadiens fan, a blue Jay fan, loved the little league world series. He coached both hockey and baseball. With Toronto East Baseball Association as al coach and umpire, and Ted Reeve Hockey Association as a coach winning multiple and consecutive season and playoff championships with his brother Glenn and served as a convenor on Sunday Mornings. Gary skated with many teams in the postal league where he wore his Blackhawks jersey and was privileged to play in NHL Oldtimers games where he got peppered but loved the excitement and honour.
Gary's Service is to be held October 8th, 2025 @ Giffen Mack Funeral Home at Danforth Ave and Main St. Toronto. Live Streaming of his service and eulogy will be available to those that can't join us in person but would like to watch. Visitation will be held from 10-11 Service and Eulogy @11 With burial to follow all ceremonies.
