Geneivive Marie Abbott

Born January 6,1960 to November 4, 2023

It is with a heavy heart, that we the family of Geneivive (Jenny) Abbott, 63, announce her passing on November 4,2023, at Scarborough General Hospital. Jenny was born in Glace Bay , Nova Scotia and was the daughter of the late Earl (Sonny) and Lorraine Abbott. Jenny moved to Ontario in 1988 to start the next chapter of her life. Jenny remained close to her childhood friend Peggy Metcalfe, and in Scarborough she became close friends with many but her best friend she spoke of is Joy. Jenny enjoyed spending time with friends at Timmies and shopping at Walmart. She also enjoyed going to bingo and watching wrestling. Most importantly, she was at her happiest when she was spending time with her family. Jenny's grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her mother Lorraine Abbott, her daughter Rose Marie (Russell), sons Richard (Michelle) and William. Her sister Chrissy and 3 brothers Earl (Carol- Ann), Bob (Jackie) and Jeff(Alicia). Loving grandmother to her grandchildren Blake, Bradye, Anthony, Bryce, Emma, Abigail, Riley and Travis. As well as many nieces and nephews. Jenny is predeceased by her father Earl ( Sonny) Abbott, her infant son Daniel, her brother Michael and her common law partner Joe.

Jenny’s family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Scarborough General Hospital for the care and compassion they showed to her.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 13,2023 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at 3003 Jerrett Funeral Homes,660 Kennedy Road, Toronto Ontario M1K 2B5, followed by a service at 1:00pm in the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Geneivive (Jenny)’s memory can be made to Sick Kids Foundation.
