It is with tremendous sadness but full hearts that we announce the passing of George Spiliotopoulos. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, in Toronto. He was surrounded by his loving family and a good toast with his favourite wine.
A beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was the loving husband to his late wife (1987) Margarita (Rita). George touched so many lives and will be remembered for his love of family, and unwavering kindness.
Born in Kleitoria (Mazeika) Greece on April 3, 1938, he moved to Canada in 1963 and married the love of his life, Rita, in 1969. Together they created a life full of love, laughter and family. He will be remembered for his love of cooking, his commitment to his family, his ability to bring people together, and always being the life of the party. Proud of his Greek heritage, he embraced life with warmth, hospitality, and a deep appreciation for family and tradition. He is survived by his 4 children, Pappou to14 grandchildren, who already display his best character traits with their love and commitment to family and togetherness. We will miss his warmth, his smile, his humour, and his strength. He was a rock for his family in so many difficult times.
