Graham was educated at the Duke of Connaught Elementary School, Danforth Technical School and University of Toronto. He was employed at Allward and Gouinlock, Architects from 1945 to 1960. After teacher training at the University of Toronto in 1960-61, he taught Architectural Drafting and Building Construction for 25 years at Danforth Technical School, and 1 year at Western Technical School in Toronto.
Graham served with the Ontario Educational Association and was Chairman of the Ontario Drafting Teachers Council. He also co-authored the Toronto Board of Education Curricular Course of Study for Architectural Teachers. In addition, he taught summer courses in Drafting at the University of Toronto to upgrade certified Technical Teachers.
Upon retirement in 1986, Graham was a consultant and prepared Building Permit Drawings for General Building Contractors. He enjoyed participating in numerous building projects for himself, his family and his friends.
Graham enjoyed the simple pleasures in life - weekend bicycle rides with the kids, visiting with family and friends, and exercising his creativity in his extensive workshop and through stained-glass and wood-burning crafts. In later years, he spent much enjoyable time on outdoor activities, well into his 90’s. Graham also enjoyed travelling especially to the Hawaiian Islands. His greatest pleasure was surely spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandson.
A visitation for Graham will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5. A memorial service will occur Monday, March 28, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes.
