July 23, 1950 - August 31, 2024
Janet Leslie Bray (nee Rois) passed away peacefully and comfortably in Scarborough on August 31, 2024 at the age of 74. Her family was with her to the end. It was a gift that her final days were so calm and finally without pain. The daughter of Arthur Norman Rois and Mildred Nora Rois, now deceased. Jan is survived by her husband of 50 years Bob (Robert Wilson) Bray, sons Bryan Walker Bray and Warren Rois Bray (Marie-Pier Guillot). She was so proud of the caring and thoughtful men that they have become. Janet is also survived by her sister Judy Rois (Wes Denyer). Jan was always in awe of Judy’s accomplishments and her strength of purpose.
Janet was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and moved with her family to Toronto as a young teenager. Janet's working career was spent caring for children as a Registered Nurse at Bloorview Children's Hospital in North York, and then as a Nurse Educator helping her colleagues. Janet was active and involved for 50 years at Trinity Presbyterian Church York Mills.
In the early years of marriage, Jan and Bob camped and hiked across the beautiful landscapes of Canada. Janet loved the many wonderful family summer weeks spent at Sauble Beach in Ontario, as well as so many immersive and life changing vacations to Hawai’i and Australia. Aloha and G’day. She also loved quilting and the creative challenge of mixing patterns and colours, as well as crafting and creating memories for others.
Janet’s family and friends will always remember her kindness, caring warm smile and loving personality. Our forever friends and neighbours, along with the “Trinity Family” are treasured by Jan and Bob. To share life with so many is an honour.
On Saturday, September 7th, a Celebration of Life will be at Trinity Presbyterian Church York Mills, 2737 Bayview Avenue, immediately south of the 401. Visitation at 9:30 am and followed by the service at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church (mytrinity.ca) or a memorial donation to a charity of your own choosing.
With sincere thanks for the love and the warm embrace that is constant.
This will sustain Jan’s family.
We will love her forever ❤
