Jean Verdon

Cherished mother to Sandra (Paul) and Paul (Karen). Loving Grandma to Katie. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bob in 1987.

Jean was born in Toronto to parents Jessie and Leo. As an only child, she was also enveloped in the love of her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Her marriage to Bob, extended her family immensely and she enjoyed their lively family gatherings.

She was a fiercely independent woman with a keen sense of humor. She loved to travel and planned many family vacations across Canada and the US in our early years. After retirement from Eatons, she travelled often with friends to Cuba, Florida, Myrtle Beach, Spain, England, Italy, Belgium and France. Time at the cottage with family was special with so many fun memories and quiet enjoyment by the lake.

Jean formed strong friendships with others in the neighbourhood where she lived for 65 years and at West Scarborough Seniors Club where she especially looked forward to Club events and bid euchre. More recently she also enjoyed the friendship of other residents and staff at Scarborough Retirement Residence and the PSW's from Spectrum.

Jean will be remembered for her sweet fun-loving nature and devotion to family and friends, including many furry friends over the years.

A memorial service for Jean will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5.
