Within our family we have experienced several recent occasions of young souls who passed way too early. The grief as parents is indescribable for sure so words can only serve as comfort. It sounds like Joey was loved by many so please take solace that he touched many in a positive way. Keep all the good memories within you while you celebrate his short time on earth. All the Best

Thinking of a favourite memory is surprisingly difficult when you have a lifetime of memories to choose from. Like walking into a buffet and knowing you won’t be able to walk out unaided hah! I remember the last time we went to Naples with mom and dad. And we went to Orlando for Christmas Day to head to the new Harry Potter attraction, and you were so excited to seek out and find one of those giant deep fried turkey legs. We spent 8 hours in the sun and it was hot that day and when you finally got one and I asked how it was you gave me that famous Joey “look” and said “it was probably not the best choice and I regret it” but you proceeded to be grudgingly finish it all... love you and miss you every day

Joey was the funniest kid in elementary. He would have the whole class in stitches almost daily.

I went though a really rough time a few years ago and we somehow reconnected. He took me downtown for a night of fun once. I was on crutches and he was so nice to walk slowly with me as a hobbled around. He was an original person.

Joey was a passionate and committed person , whatever he decided in life he would see through. One memory I’ll never forget is him showing up to my house on a bike with flat tires and me offering to fill them up. Of course he refused and and proceeded to tell me “it gave the bike character.”  This was how I always saw Joey , confident in himself and not conforming to what you were supposed to do.
