

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Leo Rudolf D'Souza, age 80, of Toronto, Ontario on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Predeceased by his wife Lalita D’Souza and parents Dennis and Annie D’Souza from Goa India. He is survived by his favorite sister Marie Antoinette Duke and brother in-law Barry.
Joseph went to school in Karachi and studied Metric. He worked at Herman and Motta Company steadily till he came to Canada in 1976. After six months he joined Burns as a security guard for many year and achieved the supervisor position at the site. Finally, he worked at Walmart as a greeter for seven years then he had a mild stroke.
Joseph got married in Canada on May 26, 1979 to Lalita D’Souza who passed away in 2018. Joseph likes to read the newspaper, watch the news CP24, do crossword puzzles, loves hockey and any fun games. He enjoyed travelling to Portugal and many parts of Canada. He also visited Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and British Columbia. He also visited the United States many times with his wife to Philadelphia, Massachusetts, New York City, and many more states. Joseph most proud of being a charter member of the Knights of Columbus fourth degree at Saint Maria Goretti Parish Council one 3345.
He loves dogs and puppies. His sister Marie had two kinds of dogs, Dusty who was Shih-poo and Daisy a Bichon. He loved them and they loved him. They would wag their tails every time they saw him.
His sister Marie influenced him the most. She planned his wedding on her own to Lalita. She also supported and protected him and was always giving a helping hand that continues up to the day he passed.
As we mourn the loss of Joseph, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind. His love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family will forever serve as a guiding light in all that knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We would like to thank Providence Healthcare for their kindness towards Joseph.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint Maria Goretti Parish, 717 Kennedy Rd, Toronto, ON M1K 3N8. A committal service will occur Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Pine Hills Cemetery 625 Birchmount Rd, Toronto, ON M1K 1R1.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joseph’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
