Joseph Michael Patrick Marrin

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph Marrin on February 27, 2026, at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.

Joe is survived by his loving family: son Michael, daughter Anne-Marie (Santino), grandson Anthony (Lucy), his sisters Sr. Mary Rose CSJ and Sr. Anne Marie CSJ of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto, his 11 nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents John Marrin and Rosella Fitzgerald and his brothers James (Marguerite), Father Patrick, and John (Rose.)

Joe enjoyed a long, successful career as a charismatic sales executive with Olivetti and Savin/Ricoh. He will be remembered as a charming, kind family oriented individual accompanied by his deep wonderful laugh that complimented his melodic voice. Joe’s love of singing was formed in his youth by family and friends and nurtured by his brother Jack. Joe sang professionally prior to starting his successful business career and was a member of several Quartets and choirs.

He loved his family and his Irishness as Joe would often treat family and guests to his heartfelt rendition of “Danny Boy” as only Joe could sing it. Joe had an extensive Song Book packed with Irish songs and many long-respected standards that would express a lament of the Irish as well as the joy of the Irish. At most Marrin gatherings for any occasion, Joe would bring his charm, smile and of course the voice that would serenade all who could hear the man and his voice. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

The Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated at

Corpus Christi Parish, 1810 Queen St. E. on March 17 at 11:00 a.m.

with visitation the hour before Mass.

An interment at Mt. St. Louis Cemetery will take place at a later date.
