Joyce passed away peacefully in her home on February 16, 2011, in her 89th year. She will be missed by her children Ann, Kathie and Harry (Scott), as well as her grandchildren Amanda, Emily, Adam, Sam, Matt, Elizabeth and Laura, and Great-grandchildren, Adam and Oliver. Pre-deceased by her husband Dr. Hugh Barber, and her children Lorrie, George, Joe, and David. Joyce’s true loves in life were her family and her art. She enjoyed spending time with Hugh at the cottage, and traveling across Canada painting landscapes. A true pioneer spirit, Joyce will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, her true appreciation of nature and the arts, and her feisty ways.
