Ms Kathleen Rooney

b.1927 in Barrhead, Scotland - d.2017 in Toronto, Ontario.

Cherished sister, beloved aunt, loyal friend - Survived by her sisters Teresa Nykamp (Andre) of Mississauga, ON and Maureen Rooney of Buffalo, NY and her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom will dearly miss her grace, compassion and wisdom. An avid traveller, Kathleen enjoyed her many years of work at Air Canada and the adventures, cultures and beautiful places she experienced along the way. Kathleen loved a good book, a challenging game of bridge and a lively debate. She gave generously of her time as a volunteer at St. Michael’s Hospital gift shop for over 20 years and of her spirit to anyone who needed a helping hand.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 24 Cheritan Avenue, Toronto. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Bridgepoint Palliative Care Ward for their care of Kathleen during the past year. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bridgepoint Hospital or to Covenant House.
