EVENDEN, Lorraine Isabel (nee MADDEN)

Peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday June 13, 2010. Born in Toronto Ontario the sixth child of Edith and the late John Madden. Loving wife of Bernard, loving Mother of Gregory and Marnie, beloved Grandmother of Maddison, Brian and Shaylan. Also surviving her are her siblings, Patricia, Therese, John, Kathleen, Eileen, Margaret, Michael, Monica, Karen and the late Nancy. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews and all who knew her. Special thanks to Jas Dhanji, her palliative care nurse. Family and friends will be received at the GIFFEN-MACK”DANFORTH” FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE 2570 Danforth Ave. Toronto, (at the Main St. subway station) 416-698-3121 on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Service in the chapel on Thursday morning at 11:00. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. God saw she was getting tired

When a cure was not to be.

So He wrapped His arms around her

And whispered “Come to Me”

In tears we saw her sinking,

We watched her fade away.

Our hearts were truly broken,

She fought so hard to stay.

But when we saw her sleeping,

Peacefully and free from pain,

We could not wish her back,

To suffer that again.

So keep your arms around her, Lord,

And give her special care,

Make up for all she suffered,

That seemed to us unfair.

So many times we’ve needed her.

So many times we’ve cried.

If love could have saved her,

She never would have died.
