

Lorraine Marie Béatrice Geroux (née Fournier), age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital in Winchester, Ontario. Lorraine was born October 3rd, 1941, in Timmins, grew up in Elliot Lake, lived for some time in Noëlville, and spent most of her life in Toronto, Ontario. She is predeceased by her husband Leo Geroux and by Austin Mallett, her loving partner of 28 years, her daughter Juliette, by parents René and Bertha Fournier, brothers Roger, Ronald, Robert, and Edward, and by her sister Lilianne. She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Lisa), Roger (Harlin), Del, and by her sister Lola, grandchildren Curtis and Elizabeth (Aaron) and great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Emmett and Mason, and many nephews and nieces.
At the age of 17 1/2 she was named Miss May in Elliot Lake. She loved music, was a devout Catholic, enjoyed knitting, hooking rugs, and embroidery. She worked as a switchboard operator and loved cats and dogs. She delighted in keeping in touch with those she loved with regular but brief phone calls. She was a gentle and kind person and was proud of her family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dundas Manor in Winchester and at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital for their dedication, care, and support to Lorraine’s journey.
Arrangements entrusted to Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, ON. Friends will be received on Tuesday August 22, 2023 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place, on Tuesday August 22, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 520 Sherbourne St., in Toronto, ON followed by the Catholic Rite of Committal at 1:30 p.m., at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery, 305 Erskine Ave, Toronto, ON M4P 1Z7.
